There is too much beauty in the world to simply pass it by
unnoticed. We must stop, linger, and sample all that we can.
With each new painting experience, I become more aware of the
colors, values, and shapes around me. The simplest patterns of
shadow and light, or the subtlest variations of tone, often
compel me to stop and savor the moment. Pastel is a truly
wonderful medium. My goal is to convey my enthusiasm and
excitement to the viewer, drawing them into the work and
allowing them to experience it afresh for themselves. Great
art must engage the viewer, create a sense of space, a strong
juxtaposition between light and dark values, and direct the viewer's
eye through the viewing experience. This is what I hope to achieve
through my art.

2010 Outdoor Festival Season
|
|
I will be exhibiting my work, for sale, at a number of
Northern Illinois outdoor art festivals this summer. Please
click on the '2010 Festival Schedule' link above for a complete
list of dates and locations. I will be demonstrating my
painting technique at most of these locations and hope you will
stop to introduce yourself.

Commissioned Works
|
|
Works of art should provide enjoyment to the viewer;
engaging their senses, and even inspiring them in a personal
way. I would be happy to discuss and plan a commissioned
project with you.
